Community Engagement and Neighbourhood Regeneration Innovative Practice.

You are invited to a collaborative symposium, bringing practical and research-based academic expertise on stakeholder engagement from Ulster University and Queens University Belfast together with Government, statutory, and voluntary representatives who influence public policy and decision-making processes across Northern Ireland.

The morning-only event includes case-study presentations, thematic workshops, and action-led discussions for shared dissemination.

Dr Saul Golden is a Lecturer in Architecture at Ulster University, an award-winning RIBA Chartered architect and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has over twenty years of international architecture practice and research experience in urban regeneration, and in housing, commercial, and healthcare building design. His research investigates performative spatial mapping and engagement methods to promote better quality urban design and shared space in private-led regeneration processes. His is a Board member of PLACENI Ltd, Northern Ireland’s built environment and community education charity, and has led numerous collaborative art and architecture based projects focused on widening the effectiveness of consultative strategies for urban decision-making.Dr Saul Golden

Lindesay Dawe is Chartered Architect and member of Royal Institute of British Architects. Since 2007 he has been a member of RIBA (Education) Validation Panel, supporting Architecture schools across the UK in curriculum and new course development. His roles in practice and academia have shaped a clear understanding of current developments in design education and practice, particularly with a regard to the nature of professionalism and ‘expertise’ within contemporary architectural practice.
